It is getting to be that time of year again....we are coming out of the sports wasteland, that time between the end of the Super Bowl the start of the start of NFL training camp. That vast abyss that comes after the celebration of another Steeler Championship. Where we are subjected to pointless NBA games played by indifferent superstars and meaningless regular season hockey. Just get to the playoffs already so the Wings can hoist another big silver bauble!
One thing that gets us through is our annual pool of the major golf tournaments. For those of you who haven't participated, the rules are simple, anyone can play and anyone can win.
Here is how it goes: Pick ten golfers that are playing in the Masters, the only restriction is that a maximum of five of your picks can be from the current World' Top Ten. This keeps everyone's team different and it is these picks from outside the top ten that separate the winning entry from the also-rans. Everyone picks Tiger and Phil, it is the person who finds the hidden gems like Trevor Immelman (last year's winner) and Zach Johnson (previous surprise winner) who takes home the winnings. Pick your ten, indicate which one you think will win along with his final score in relation to par for tie-breaking purposes and that's it. $10 per entry, winner takes all (for his/her charity, of course)
All entries must be received by Wednesday, April 8 11:59 am.
Send them to dgross22@hotmail.com or post your picks on Facebook.
